Pull Yourself Together! Bring Your Brand Under One Umbrella

Well it's been a busy month of randomised learning activity on the internet (coupled with the return to work after 8 weeks of sick leave) and my blog has been neglected.

I have joined an internet marketing system that helps you to bring together the social marketing and web 2 material that I have been trying out, while also allowing you to promote affiliate products. The aim of the system is also to train you in marketing and business mindsets, in particular the system serves as a great organising and team cohesion tool for network marketers. With the few articles and blog materials I have previous created, I can begin to see the powerful implications of this system.

When it comes to the £50 a month budget though, it pushes it close to the maximum (it will cost about $45/£30 a montat full price. I'm not in an MLM or network marketing business, but can see the distinct advantage this system would give to those who are, in that you can drive traffic to your site, blog, articles, twitter and fb accounts to reinforce who you are and your services. The initial cost though are escaleted by the additional 'recommented' products that your are directed to purchase, and the lure of 'what is the secret that I don't know yet' type marketing, will eventually pull you in to purchase it as a 'must have' product. Suddenly to pounds begin to add on and on. The investment pit is dug deeper and deeper.

"All I wanted was a simple blog to practice my writing skills", I quietly cry.

I then find myself searching for a suitable MLM business that fits within 'brand me', while considering expanding the preferred investment amount. This is meant to be low budget, simple strategies for generating internet marketing income. I feel I'm becoming embroiled in a web that gets more sticky and difficult to exit. I'm tempted to leave and use the money to pay my bills, but at the same time see I'm am making progress in some areas, and the time invested looks as if it's a mosaic that is finally begining to piece itself together.

Time mangement is my main concern - the computer is slow and time consuming therefore feel I have got little done in the time I spend sitting the the computer. I could be putting my kitchen together and any further spends I am consciously aware, really ought to be directed there.

Opportunity costs. I weight up the short and long term. The level of satifaction. Systematisation. The credit card. Ummm. What is brand me worthn now? what assets do I have that could be used better? How can I monetize the courses and books I've invested in, as Jerry Clark tells us.Where, as Jerry informs me, would I beeter be applying my Attention and apply my Mental Work?

Mid-week Progress Report 2

Well, I have continued on my trail of the £50 Challenge.

The PLR products that I have invested in though are problably ahead of my needs and abilities, but as a nother monthly subscription has gone out of my acount i need to focus on deciding how i am going to use them.

I have found using Fillezilla and FTP very difficult, and subsequently decided to leve a training/ hosting site as the support was not to my expectations.

Youtube may have to be the free trainng ground for now, and I shall have to go the old fashioned route of reading a book.  Time spent on Facebook developing  connections isn't the most productive use of my time, as I haven't got a reasonable page up yet and the domain hosting company appear to have taken my domain hostage to their advertising page as the instructions for DNS transfer and nameserver transfer are scant and confusing.

It's fast becoming the £50 a Month Marketing Challenge!

So I'm off, to read and have another go later.

DEBT HELP - Turn Your Debts Into A Fantastic Debt Free New Life: Search results for internet marketing

DEBT HELP - Turn Your Debts Into A Fantastic Debt Free New Life: Search results for internet marketing

This Lady created a report 4 years ago on how to get your ebook published. tyere were some very useful directions in it, and when I started blooging last year, it was the first thing I pulled out. Three pages long, it contained links and tips on how to marktet your ebook and creat salespages, opt-in forms. I think she has set herself a challenge too, and called it the debts-challenge (debts-challenge.blogspot.com).

Two ways to develop an eye for finding money!

Yes, I frequently wander around the internet, in a manner others may view as an unconstructive use of my time. however, I know different. My unconscious mind is compiling information and scanning the screen for useful affiliate link, not of the BIG, Bold Affiliate program variety.

I'm looking for the small print. Having read the ebooks I have already invested in, and yet, still not had the time to systematically apply what they have said, I find that there is so much information not included that is, as they say, "leaving money on the table".

For example, although Ewan Chai states that one-way links from outside directing people to your website are more valuable for search engine ranking than the two way links or none at all, he forgets to say that some external websites are more valuable in the eyes of search engines than others (If it is true).

Firstly, A website I visited late last night, claims that links from .gov, .edu, .com or .org are rated at least 5 times more highly than other links. The site ewent on to explain the strategy of link building by research the blog stites the workers there would use and commenting via these sites in order to bring the outside link back to you.

Secondly, Adsense is not the only pay-per-click advertiser that can be intergrated into you blog or website, other like Infolink and Kontera offer pay-per-click revenue also. Their method is different and involves scanning the content of you blog or site and placing links to advertising on key words. Its called in text advertising. Give them a try. Click the names.

The FTP got me STUMPED!

30 July 2010.

Well, it's been over a month since I started learning the IM principles, more consistently while off sick from work.

Unfortunately, I haven't earned anything as a consequence of the time invested. Probably because I haven't managed to upload the PLR I downloaded, nor uploaded the pages that I attempted to design. The FTP got me STUMPED!

Every day I am bombarded with emails about traffic generating tactics and products to buy. Every video seems to be a good 20 minutes and over, and many remove the timer so you never know when it's all going to end!

Opt-in, opt-in, opt -out! I don't even know who does what anymore, however, I do know that some people try to sell you material you can buy in a £10 book from Amazon for a good £500. Hey, the value is in the use I suppose, but if you are not going to read a £10 book, it's unlikely you'll read the course. ( I speak for myself).

I prefer my training in person, in class or accessible, interactive video type training.

Yesterday I went from a new facebook friend's link to someone else's page, then onto a link from a course she had presented last January to an opt-in page of David Wood an 'Attraction Marketing Coach'. He gave the usual speel: Nearly broke, living in awful conditions with job he hated, to tens of thousands of income when he finally found the magical formula. That 'magic' was provided by a software program on the net that manages your multilevel marketing businesses, by helping you to generate leads. Of course they don't tell you how they help you get the free traffic,or the customers whom you don't have to interact with from across the other side of the world. They want you to buy into it first.

So I have been lisening to day one ane two of Dave Wood on his Traffic Transformation Program.

He start by telling you to start a blog, and begin writing an article a day for 100 days. Now having started my blog last year, I know how difficult it is to get yourself to write something each day. You would have to be searching out inspiration from the works of others or daily incidents to stoke up the creative engines with, that is if you have the time to research and create. I could be seen as being lucky enough to afford the time to do this, but as I have to do everything for and by myself, I actually don't have the energy and can't afford to gamble the time.

The last few weeks have been a steep learning curve, and I reflect on how, if I had followed my instincts years ago and sought out the resources, perhaps I would be in the same positions as many of those currently pitching daily emails at my inbox. However, perhaps I just wasn't 'hungry' enough at the time. Similarly as with those who tell their stories of rags-to-riches in weeks, it takes a human to reach a point where they absolutely have to do it, before they finally drag themselves up by their shoestrings to begin making changes.

Many may disbelieve that those in internet marketing are making such rapid and phenomenol changes in their lives with internet marketing, but I'm begining to believe it is possible, as after a few weeks, you either become disgruntled and give up completely, or you decide to become determined and systematic in achieving what you initially set out to do.

I hope I'm in the latter group.

Are Internet Marketers Creating 'Gold-rush' Multi-Level Marketing Scams?

Yes, they are many IM's apparently tryng to link up with people on Facebook so other people on your account can become their customers. People using facebook are already hypnotised - it's so addictive - so soon they'll start advertising their material to a suseptible maket, myself included (as a FB gullible).

I bought a 'secret' product by Ewen Chai, and was very disappointed. Basically all he is saying is to remarket the ebook I had just brought in order to make money from IM. He also send's viral email - asking you to become a ClickBank affiliate, then put in your details before forwarding it to someone else. Then, if they buy you possibly get a commission.

It seems like just another version of Multi-Level Marketing. I expect to be claiming a refund from CB before the 8 week trail is up.

But on the other side - there are many small business, who should be wise to know that the affiliate/adsence 'goldrush' should be seen purely as a means of funding/ offsetting the cost of their website for their real business. Experenced IM's will hopefully only use their experience to help people promote the website and their root business, so that they may sustain the business.

IM will be seen as an extended role of PR, direct markteing and publishing. It will be seen as a distinguishable role in it's own right. But until then, those willing to learn the valuable, practical skill of Internet Marketing will be handsomely rewarded, just as marketers are in other areas of life, like real estate, super-markets, car sales and engineering.

Selling affiliate programs, shouldn't be seriously considered as the only pursuit of IM, unless you have plenty of time, your own server and probably have no conscious about what you sell and to whom you sell it. However, there are many markets to serve your conscious with a healthy appetite of your own interests and worthy causes requiring support and promotion. Searching out a niche is what being an outstanding IM-er is all about.

In concluson, there are greater avenues to be explored for the growing Internet Market than Cut-and-Paste affiliate marketing, promised as a simplified get-rich-quick hook. However, like their primary school teaching tactics, it is still a very good place to start learning.

The £50 Internet Marketing Start Up Challenge

Week One - 3rd July 2010

I'm off sick from work for at least two more weeks. But while recouperating, I have taken the opportunity to absorb the in and outs of Internet Marketing a little more closely.

However, UK sick pay for 6 weeks is pretty dire, and I was shocked to see what was 'deposited' in my bank account this week-end. A wake up call, no doubt.

Having attepted to start my IM adventure with as minimal investment as possible, I have successfully managed to spend only a full $2 (£1.50) for hosting, autoresponders and video producer (two companies), on top of the cost of domain name registration of about £10 (can't rememeber - sorry). I dug out the webcam and microphone and headset I brought three years ago, which was still in the pack (£17).

While searching for information, I have twittered for FREE, blogged for FREE and affiliated myself into various companies and schemes for FREE. I have recieved hoards of emails for new marketing methods, advice on making money strategies on the internet and watched live streaming events presented by millionaire internet marketers proving that IM works (for a donation of £6).

So the challenge is, can I establish an IM service for no more than £50($70) before it begins to generate an income?

Follow me and find out.

Mid-week Progress Report

Well, I spent last week being convinced by the internet marketing masterclass that it was possible to earn a living through the internet. While on sick leave, I decided to have a go and use my time productively instead of watching Big Brother for the remainder of the summer.

I've Twittered, and sat through countless 'how to' videos and mentally debated which marketing strategy would best suit my objectives. Blogs? Articles? Reviews? Reselling? Websites? Niche Markets? Training courses? Coaching?

I seem to have spent most of the past four days, while researching, opening emails and reading sales letters or watching sales pitches abouts courses and materials on 'how to create an internet income'. Apparently it's the hottest market.

I'm not expecting an instant income. I have placed affiliate links over the years on a previous website I had, (for hypnotherapy) and never receieved a penny (even though there were sales). But with all these testimonials of outstanding incomes within a few days, who are we to believe? They must be doing their sites around the clock. I already have invested (too) many long hours while missing Englands 4 days of sunshine!!

So join me on my journey and so where it takes me. If anywhere...

Can you really make Automatic Profits Online? Secrets Revealed.

Can you really make automatic profits online?

I have to question this, as having used a simple website template previously to promote my business as a hypnotherapist, I would insert links at the bottom of my links pages, as a link exchange or to promote useful information to my website readers.

I was never sure of the effectiveness of the website, even though many clients would say they had found me on the web.

Since those day - just 30 long internet months, I find myself being influenced to believe that you can be amongst the 5 and 6 figure income earners if you put the hard work, strategies and systems to work with creative Internet Marketing techniques.

Am I just an easily lead Hope and Wannabe believer?

Apparently 90% of affiliate marketers don't do anything once they have registered. And then of those 10% that do, only 1% of the original 100% go on to earn top affiliate status. It appears to be a very competitive male dominated world full of league tables and competitive 'ranking' antics. So there seems to be plenty of room at the top for those remaining ambitious, hungry, fiery and deserving females! ...."Coming!"

$1 14 day Trial.

Starting out in business on a shoes string, a broken one at that, can be extremely difficult for any internet marketer, keen to join the forces of promoting products and services for other people's businesses, or their creative efforts.

It is especially off-putting when you don't feel confident about your technical capabilities or creative outpouring. Maintaining your interest in your internet ideas and all the freedom they wistfully promise, can leave you mentally drained, while your head spins from all the circles you've run yourself around in.

So during the last two weeks I have spent time overlooking websites of companies promising simplified, step by step, video based training episodes of web-building and business building training, my confidence and know how rocketed.

Social Networking Strategies That Make You Want to Hit Yourself For Not Using Earlier

By Andrew M Nathan

Social Networking is easy once you understand the concepts behind it. The challenge is that all too often people jump in without researching how to use it effectively. That is when you hear the weird and outrageous stories about what people have done to effectively ruin someone's social networking experience. So let's review the basics, because I feel for a lot of people using social networking this is necessary for them to become successful:

1. Not everyone went to Facebook to hear about your rates, savings, amazing special offers, and the like. We have all grown up watching television, where companies pound us with offer after offer. Anywhere we go we see someone hawking their products. Whether it is signs out in front of a store, huge billboards that shout, "Please, Please, Please purchase my services, so we can make up the costs on sign on I-90", stadiums, such as Wrigley, Minute Maid, and Comerica are there to promote big business as much as the sports they hold. People are not looking to be bombarded by an ever ending list of advertisers.

Especially when they go online. They are looking to connect with friends, family, and connections, not to be hawked goods. While some social networks run their free services to you through advertising, it is not your responsibility to take over where they left off.

2. Quantity plus quality is what matters. Everyone gets excited on Twitter about getting millions and millions of followers. The truth is that without quality relationships, it does not matter how many followers you have. That is why I feel that my best networking has come when I maxed out on Facebook, because then I focused on building my current relationships, not my network. Keep up with your network and make sure that build relationships.

3. Be creative! One of the good things about the recent economic downturn (Yes, I did say good with the downturn) is that people who once used to be part of the corporate monolithic block have left companies en mass after layoffs. Once they got out of their post-traumatic zombie haze, the vast majority of them started to think for themselves. Instead of being part of the think corporate, speak corporate, dress corporate masses they started have great ideas. That means that for you to succeed to today you need to come up with new and interesting content to compete with the groundswell of people who entered the entrepreneur market. The ability to do that effectively will make or break your business.

4. Be honest. Some believe that you tell people things to get them in the door and figure out a way to keep the rouse going until they close. That is not appropriate or profitable. Most companies that do this get caught. Think Enron, Bear Stearns, Countrywide type not work if you think you are exempt from that idea.

In the end, as long as you listen to these basic tenets you can become successful at social networking. In the end as long as you learn that it is not about what you hawk, but how you talk
to people when you connect.

Can Social Networking Help My Small Business?

Can Social Networking Help My Small Business?
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Ryan_Prucker]Ryan Prucker

When people work with or buy from a company, they want to know that the company is reliable, trustworthy, and can provide the desired items or services. However, what initially brings customers to your business, and keeps them coming back, is having a clear, likable personality. However, it can be hard for your company to show its personality and connect with people. You get caught up in your products or services and forget that at the end of the day, people buy from those they like. Social networking and the Internet are cost effective and efficient ways to build contacts and stay in touch with customers and prospective customers. Building and maintaining relationships is the key in any business, and social networking provides an ideal start.

Social networking websites, such as Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn, allow your style and personality to emerge in a unique way. Unlike constantly selling and pushing your agenda, social networking allows you to share information about yourself and your company with people who want to find out more about you, such as other companies in your industry or prospective customers. This changes the dynamic because you are now attracting people by sharing useful information, who can then provide you with new insights or tips. This fosters a strong relationship with possible business contacts or potential customers, and allows you to build upon that relationship by continuing to use social networking platforms.

A short while ago, people might have thought it strange or pathetic if you randomly decided to write letters or e-mails to old acquaintances from high school, asking to be friends again. However, social networking has made this practice not only acceptable but also embraced. Social networking allows you to connect with people you see daily, friends you haven't seen in years, people you've never met in person, but could be potential business associates or customers, and everyone in between.

Taking advantage of social networking provides a completely new platform to talk with your prospects in an informal way, which encourages building a rapport. Using social networking allows you to make formal contacts while maintaining a relatively informal demeanor, which leads to more natural, honest conversation. This honest communication gives you the feedback, information, tips, and contacts necessary to further your business aspirations. Social networking may be a bit time consuming, but if you structure your efforts, focus your plan, use it effectively, and give the process enough time to grow, you will see results. While you grow those connections, you are also actively creating a personality for your business, projecting a positive image and providing helpful information that is beneficial to your customers. In the end, you are using social media as a tool to grow your network, generate business relationships and expose your message to an infinite number of prospective clients. With social networking, you get all this while simply interacting with other people and having fun...not a bad approach.

How Can Integration of Social Networking and Email Marketing Increase ROI For Email Campaigns?

How Can Integration of Social Networking and Email Marketing Increase ROI For Email Campaigns?
By Gary San

If you are anything like the average marketer, you are probably more experienced with your email campaigns than you are with social media marketing. That is okay because these two channels are a perfect match. In fact, sites like Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter can help you acquire more subscribers, while your existing marketing platform can help you build your following in the social world. It is a win-win in many aspects, but this article will introduce three simple ways social networking can be used to boost the ROI for email campaigns.

1. Make Your Email Content Sharable

Sharing has become a common activity on the web, providing an easy way for articles, video and various other types of content to "go viral". The popularity of social networking has extended the sharing concept to the email platform, and creating this environment in your marketing message is easier than ever before. ESPs are increasingly rolling out features that make it simple for readers to share your content in their social communities. According to a recent study conducted by Marketing Sherpa, sharing buttons increase subscriber interaction for email campaigns by as much as 25% and greatly increase traffic coming in from social networking traffics. This could be traffic that helps you rack up conversions in the form of more subscribers and sales.

2. Include Social Call to Actions

Implementing sharing buttons is not the only way social networking can boost the ROI for your email campaigns. Another method that will help you increase your return involves simply including links to all your online hangouts in your message. Links such as "Connect with Us on Facebook" or "Follow Me on Twitter" will act as call to actions that let subscribers know that you want to connect with them via other channels. The more subscribers that bite, the larger your audience in the social networks. This also gives you the opportunity to introduce your email subscribers to special offers and other exclusive content that is reserved for your social following, putting your products or services in front of more potential customers.

3. Commit to Cross-Channel Promotions

No social email marketing strategy can succeed without dedication to cross-channel promoting. Doing simple things such as reminding Facebook fans, MySpace friends, and Twitter followers about your newsletter and other email content can only benefit your marketing efforts in the end. Integrating these two channels is all about promoting brand awareness and building relationships, so the more you cross-promote, the more you put your business out there, and the better chance you have of making an impact. The nature of social media makes ROI difficult to measure, but the overall results are obvious when consumers in this channel start spending and advocating on behalf of your brand, neither of which can happen without a dedicated effort.

The key to succeeding with social-email integration is producing content others want to share and understanding how todays consumers want to be engaged. Between valuable content, easy sharing capabilities, and diligent cross-promotional efforts, this is one marriage that can help you increase ROI, and keep your business soaring high.
